This site uses cookies, but only for login functionality. If (and only if) you check the 'Remember Me' or 'Auto Log In' boxes do we record your email, username and password on cookies. We don't sell your information!
IMPORTANT If you are on a public computer, you should NEVER use the 'Remember Me' or 'Stay Logged In' in checkboxes.
IMPORTANT If you are on a public computer, be sure to log out of your account before leaving it unattened.
IMPORTANT If you are on a public computer, close the entire browser (Not just a tab) when done using jotthat.com.
Web security is a trade off. Convenience creates security risks. If you want your information secure, you should just log in every time you use this platform (Not click the Remember Me checkbox or use your browser to remember your username and password). But sensitive data is not what this platform was made for. It was made for notes and chores and musings that are significant to you, but probably not to others. Sensitive data should be held very carefully.
Click here to learn how to store sensitive data. (Not on jotthat.com)There are two ways to have the browser remember your username and password. One, is to use the autofill option that comes up in the top-right corner of your screen (We'll call that AUTOFILL from here on). AUTOFILL has the security of possibly being prompted for a pin. The second way is to click the 'Remember Me' checkbox.
Either way, anyone who has access to your device will have access to the information on this site, since we DO NOT use two party authentication.
The only way to actually keep your data safe, if someone has access to this device, is to NOT use AUTOFILL, and to not check the 'Remember Me' checkbox AND/OR the 'Stay Logged In' checkbox. This will force you to type in your log in information every time. Only check these boxes if your data is not sensitive, and you are opting for convenience. The primary reason this app was made is convenience and that's why these boxes exist. We assume that most people who are using this app are not putting sensitive data in it.
